Activities of Daily Living

An IHS Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assessment analyses a person's functional performance in the areas of personal self care and general activities in and around the home.

As part of this assessment, an occupational therapist determines the level and type of assistance the person requires in order to live as independently and safely as possible. The assessment also provides recommendations relating to equipment and home modifications which may also be arranged through IHS if required.
