Ergonomic Assessment

Ergonomic assessments, also referred to as workstation assessments, ensure that a worker's workstation is ergonomically designed to minimise the risk of injury and maximise productivity.

Ergonomic Assessments may also be used to:

  • Support the return to work of an injured worker by ensuring that their workstation is designed to minimise any discomfort as they recover from their injury and/or prevent any aggravation of the injury.
  • For injured or non injured workers who work from home, to ensure their home work environment is safe and ergonomically designed.

Where an individual is already experiencing pain or discomfort, or has an injury or disability, we conduct a thorough assessment to ensure they can work safely and comfortably.

The assessment helps employers to meet their duty of care with a formal report provided following the assessment. Commenting specifically on:

  1. Analysis of all aspects of the workstation – chair, desk, monitor, keyboard, mouse and the placement of these at the workstation.
  2. Analysis of the employee – job requirements and their working posture.
  3. Discussion of rest and stretch breaks throughout the day to minimize injuries.
  4. Recommendations including any equipment that may be required as well as supply and set up if requested.
