An IHS workplace assessment is a specialised workplace based assessment of a worker’s pre-injury duties and potential suitable duties.
This assessment is able to provide all parties with valuable information regarding a summary of the physical, environmental, psychological, cognitive (if necessary) and social demands of a worker’s pre-injury demands and duties.
An IHS workplace assessment will always identify injury prevention strategies related to an injured worker resuming work, establishing suitable duties and the employer’s responsibility to ensure a safe working environment. Any issues highlighted during the assessment will be met with meaningful and practical intervention to overcome the barriers.
In addition, the assessment will Identify and assesses appropriate suitable duties to assist with the development of suitable duties plans which can either be facilitated by the employer internally or by IHS if required.
